The SERKEM Solution in Detail
SAP PI & SAP PO
SAP Process Integration or SAP Process Orchestration (SAP PI/SAP PO) is a middleware platform, which is designed for the connection of a SAP system with another provider or external systems. Possible scenario is, for example, the integration of a webshop (A2A as well as B2B):
SAP PI is a further development of the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI). It has various in-house and cross-company integration scenarios, for modeling the process flow and the division of business applications in their components.
To be open for the integration of other systems, SAP PI orients itself on the generally accepted standards. Originally, SAP PI needed the ABAP as well as the java component. From the version 7.3 SAP PI/PO is no longer a so-called dual-stack-system, but can be used as a pure java version. An ABAP stack is no longer absolutely essential, but can be used anyway.
SAP PI/PO offers tools for modeling and designing of business processes. The fields of application of these tools range from the entire process sequence over the activity order to the interfaces and data types.
The user guidance from SAP PI and SAP PO is completely based on the java runtime engine:
SAP PI and SAP PO have a relatively uncomplicated architecture. It is essentially composed of three user components:
The Usage of SAP PI or SAP PO offers many advantages. But the implementation should happen only with a reliable partner. If you have questions or plan an implementation, SERKEM supports you with pleasure.
